June 4--Buenos Aires Tour

Feliz martes a todos!

El Caminito
We all continued with Day 2 of classes today, and are getting used to some intensive work in Spanish (or Italian for some of us!).  We work in small groups of 5-7, and each of two teachers.  Some of the groups are learning about the history of Argentina, others the geography, and some the culture.  For example, my group learned about the history of popular music in Argentina for the first two hours, and for the second we learned about all the diverse regions that form Argentina.

After classes today the entire group went in a bus for a whirlwind tour of Buenos Aires--we saw everything from La Casa Rosada (the Argentine equivalent of the White House) to the cemetery to Puerto Madero (the port district).  A favorite was El Caminito in the district La Boca, which is famous for its colorful buildings and immigrant culture.  We only got to spend a little bit of time at each place, so we are very happy that we get to return to many of them later in the trip!

Hasta Luego!

  1. This is all very interesting. But the real question is: Have you met Kismet yet?
